To get the blue butterfly.

There are plenty of puzzles throughout the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC that may stump you. This franchise is pretty familiar with puzzles like finding the Blue Medallions. Sometime during Chapter 5, you’ll find yourself in a Collection Room trying to find an ingredient for Luis. You need a blue butterfly, but it’s locked behind a glass case. Surely breaking the glass would be the easiest solution, but instead you must figure out which three symbols to use on the lock. Let me explain the Collection Room lock puzzle solution in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways.

You’ll first want to start at the entrance of the Collection Room. Now, follow these footsteps carefully, especially when they intertwine with themselves. The first object I.R.I.S. notices the footprints lead to is a beetle. You’ll want to find the three specimens that have fingerprints all over them.

Continue to follow the footprints, and make sure you notice which direction they’re going when they intersect with others. They should lead to a skull, and finally to a lizard. With this order in mind, you can now go to the lock and solve it like so.
