While the premise of any Ark title is simply going to be to survive, there are a million different ways this can be interpreted. Whether it’s taming some of the dinosaurs early on within the game, or gathering enough materials to craft some Hide armor.
Base defending however is going to be just as important as it is in other survival titles such as Rust, mainly due to the fact that this could be the only form of shelter you have in the wild.
In Survival Ascended, there are going to be some methods and items players should craft and set up along the outskirts of their base.
Automated Defensives in Ark Survival Ascended
While you can just sit around and fend off the dinosaurs and oncoming attacks yourself, it’s much easier to just build the following items and hope they don’t break.
- Turrets
- These can be automated or manually operated, and they’re going to be extremely helpful to fend off enemies.
- Spike Walls
- Speaking of walls, taking advantage of the wooden or metal spike walls is going to further ensure you don’t have any pesky creatures having an easy way over the top of your base.
- Tripwire Traps
- The handy tripwire traps are a classic way to catch dinosaurs off guard, since, depending on your base location, you can set these up along the outskirts and hope they stumble in.
