Ship spamming in Skull and Bones is making the game unplayable

More ships does not equal more fun.

Skull and Bones has recently delivered its first season, Raging Tides, and with it, new enemy encounters with the Plaguebringers. However, many players have complained about the quantity of ships that are harassing their vessels.

Skull and Bones players are getting continually harassed by NPC ships

Before Raging Tides, Kingpins were able to fully collect their goods in the different regions promptly, even with other ships routinely attacking them. Having to defend yourself and your cargo whilst collecting Po8s (Pieces of Eight) was a decent enough challenge, but did leave players with enough time to enjoy many other aspects of the game.

Now, players are constantly being harassed by a huge surge of armored ships and the new Pestilence Ships. What’s more, is that players are reporting that upon destroying enemy ships, even more spawn in to join the fray.

One player shared that what usually is a 40-minute cargo run was inflated into a three-hour session as they were repeatedly attacked by Pestilence ships and other armored vessels.

Clearly, this is Ubisoft’s attempt at making things more difficult. But more doesn’t exactly mean better, especially when being forced to fight waves and waves of the same enemies. It quickly grows tiresome, and any player wanting to get back in will hesitate at the thought of having to trudge through even more of the same fights when all they want to do is get from point A to B.

A better approach would be to make the ships more difficult themselves, not just throw a bunch of them at the player. It inflates play time without providing anything fun, fresh, or meaningful.

Players are now worried that this is how the game will be for the foreseeable future, and many don’t want a part in it. Hopefully, Ubisoft reins in the boat bloat sometime soon. In the meantime, you can prep your ship with the best loadout possible to handle armadas coming down on you.
