Ernest, exasperated, finally gave up on trying to figure out why the bank manager had installed a drill on the wall behind him.
If you weren’t sold on Square Enix’s Thief reboot (formerly known as Thi4f, which I will never let them live down) then you’ll be overjoyed to know that you’re going to have to pre-order the game if you want to go on a bank heist.
The pre-order mission sees Garrett sneaking into the Stonemarket First Bank, and we can safely assume that he’s there to rob the place blind rather than to deposit a cheque or ask the manager about interest rates. At least, I think we can. I suppose it’s possible that he just wants some leaflets on savings accounts, but his crippling social anxiety prevents him from actually directly interacting with anyone.
Judging by the below trailer, you’ll only be getting your hands on the Bank Heist if you pre-order from GameStop, Amazon, or Walmart, because other, lesser stores simply couldn’t handle a pre-order bonus of this magnitude. I’m assuming that partners for the rest of the world will be announced later on.
Considering what we’ve heard (and considering the quality of the writing in this trailer), you might want to hold off on pre-ordering until we have some idea of whether or not Thief will be any good. Just saying.
