This hit horror title launched in 2014 from the talented team over at Creative Assembly and is the kind of game the Alien franchise deserved for a long time. A quick search of user reviews reveals very positive feedback. If you missed out on this game over the past several years, patience has finally rewarded you. Not only does this game hold its value still, but it’s still visually impressive too. That’s due to its AAA level of polish and attention to detail throughout the environments. Immersion certainly goes a long way in the horror genre.

They say there are no real monsters, but there are

Alien: Isolation falls in the vein of the original movie that started it all back in 1979. You’ll find yourself on a creepy space station that the iconic Xenomorph has turned into its stalking ground. You’re character can’t wait to get there until she realizes what’s gone wrong. Then she can’t wait to leave.

The gameplay experience is described as underpowered and underprepared. That’s because you’ll need to scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use that big brain of yours to progress. There are mysteries to solve and situations to overcome, all while the alien stalks about. What made this game stand out, was the unscripted nature of the monster. It’s up to you to constantly keep tabs on your surroundings. It’s never far away and will respond to your actions. That’s more than enough to keep you on the edge of your seat.

You’re sure to get pulled in by the complex narrative as you learn more about your own character, the events that took place on the situation, and the greater events going on in the galaxy. Just don’t get to engrossed, or that Xenomorph might be the next thing pulling you in.

The Epic Games Store has more than just these free games to enjoy this December

Be sure to claim Alien: Isolation on the Epic Games Store before 11 AM ET on December 22, because like we said, the free games will only be available for 24 hours each. If you do have a little cash to spend and you’re thinking of picking up something for the holidays this year, also check out the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale, where there’s over 200 popular titles of various flavors. You can also grab $10 USD coupons, rendering some of those games almost free.
