A new hidden world quest of Genshin Impact, “Through the Looking Glass,” will make you explore different areas in search of looking glasses.
In order to complete this quest, you will need to find six different-looking glasses in different areas of Fontaine. While a few of them are near each other, most of them are situated over a long distance from each other. In this guide, we will show you the location of each looking glass in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: All Looking Glass locations in ‘Through the Looking Glass’ quest
In order to complete “Through the Looking Glass,” you will need to find six different-looking glasses and get inside them. These glasses have a glowing violet aura around them, making them noticeable from a distance. Inside the glasses, you will need to do some work to make the fish inside the mirror enter another painting nearby.
Looking Glass 1 – Orthant of Memory
To find the looking glass in Orthant of Memory, teleport to the waypoint on the north side of the Tower of Ipsissimus. Now, swim through the stairs behind you until you reach an open wall leading to a deeper location. After you reach the lower ground underwater, swim to your left and you will cross another door.
After crossing this door, swim to your right after you find a large machine underneath you. Here, you will find the looking glass. Now, swim inside it and fight some Rifthounds. After defeating the Rifthounds, the fish will enter the painting nearby. You will come across this looking glass while finishing the Search in the Algae Sea, as one objective requires you to Find the Orthant of Memory.
Looking Glass 2 – Orthant of Soul
To find the looking glass in the Orthant of Memory, use the waypoint of East Slopes of Mont Automnequi. After reaching the location, swim straight and get past the ruins with a blue barrier. Get past the storage machine inside the room and keep straight. After reaching the end, go to your left and jump on the land below you.
Now, keep progressing inside until you come across another storage machine. Turn to your left from the storage machine, and you will notice this looking glass. You can also find a Luxurious Chest in front of the second storage machine. Go near the looking glass and jump on the table in front of you to enter the portal.
You will need to solve a little puzzle to complete this looking glass. Observe around you, and you will see a few torches of fire around you. Use a Hydro character and use your abilities on these torches to put out the fire. Afterward, switch to a Pyro character and use your ability on the two torches below the painting to light them up. Once they are lit, the fish will enter the painting.

Looking Glass 3 – Fort Charybdis Ruins
The third-looking glass can be found inside the Fort Charybdis Ruins. To reach this location, use the Fort Charybdis Ruins teleport waypoint. After teleporting, head towards the stairs in front of you. Climb from one side and get down through the other side. On the other side, you will find the looking glass that you are looking for. Now, go near the glass and interact with it to enter the domain.
Inside the looking glass, you will find a Rockfond Rifthound. After defeating the Rifthound, you will find a Remarkable Chest on top of a stone slab. Open the Remarkable Chest to obtain your rewards. This will also send the fish through the painting and complete the looking glass in Fort Charybdis Ruins.
Looking Glass 4 – Orthant of Wishes
Soon after completing the looking glass in Fort Charybdis Ruins, get out of it. Now, jump down the stairs and go behind the previous looking glass. Here, you will get on a lift. Activate the lift and it will take you downwards into the Orthant of Wishes. After reaching downwards, keep heading forward until you reach a giant machine. Get past the machine, keep heading forward, and you will soon reach another lift.
Interacting with this lift will take you even further down towards the basement. Now keep going forward again until you reach another machine. Get past the machine, and you will find the looking glass on your left. Interact with it to enter the looking glass and reach the other side. Inside the mirror, you will again get attacked by a few Rifthounds. Taking care of them will successfully send the fish inside the painting and complete this looking glass as well.
Looking Glass 5 – Orthant of Persona
You can reach this looking glass in the Orthant of Persona by using the teleport waypoint on the southern side of the Tower of Ipsissimus. After teleporting, swim towards your right and you will find the entrance to the Orthant of Persona. After entering the Orthant, keep progressing inside until you reach a large machine. On the left side of the machine, you will find the looking glass.
Interact with it by going near it to enter the looking glass. Inside the glass, you will find a Thundercraven Rifthound. Defeating this Rifthound will give you access to an Exquisite Chest. Open the Exquisite Chest to obtain your rewards and this will also send the fish through the painting.
Looking Glass 6 – Tower of Ipsissimus
The final looking glass can be found on the bottom of the Tower of Ipsissimus. Entering this looking glass will also mark the beginning of the Through the Looking Glass hidden quest of Genshin Impact. After collecting the fifth looking glass, teleport again to the previous waypoint and keep swimming forward. After coming over a distance, you will find a chest being guarded by a few fishes.
Go near the chest and press Enter to teleport to another location. You can make it easier by killing the fish nearby, but that is not necessary in this case. After going to the other side, turn left to see a glowing blue window. On the left side of this window, you will find a path leading to the backside of a wall. Behind this wall, you will find a looking glass.
After entering the looking glass, you will be taken to a room full of barriers. Avoiding the barriers, go towards the Exquisite Chest nearby. Open it to obtain the rewards and also start the “Through the Looking Glass” quest. After starting the quest, enter the nearby looking glass again. Make sure that you are not going back through the glass that brought you here. Some players might get confused as there are two glasses in this room.
After entering the final looking glass, you will find Canotila on the other side. After talking to her, she will take you to another location through teleportation. After reaching this location, the “Through the Looking Glass” quest of Genshin Impact will automatically be completed.
Completing the entire mission will grant you the following rewards.
