All Saints’ Wake returns to FFXIV with a magical new emote

The family's back from the void to clown around yet again.

Starting the 27 of October, the yearly Halloween themed event All Saints Wake returns until November 13. This year rewards are limited, but include a dazzling new emote and furniture item.

The return of All Saints’ Wake 2023: The Papa Gruff storyline continues

Since 2021, All Saints’ Wake events have been following a storyline involving a voidsent imp disguised as a clown named Papa Gruff and his family of other disguised voidsent. From the artwork depicting Papa Gruff front and center, it looks as if the voidsent family isn’t done trying to ruin All Saints’ Wake yet. What new and devilish scheme will the family be up to for us to foil this time? With a caption like ‘What Could Taste Better than Fear?’, I suspect it may involve pumpkin cookies.

The family has done such schemes as trying to impersonate the Adventurer’s Guild Investigator or luring people to a feast to steal their souls. The latter has been so far the peak of their efforts, so can they come up with anything worse? How many years will we try to stop the Gruff family before they finally give up?

As event rewards, All Saints’ Wake 2023 grants the All Saints’ Charm remote, which looks like we pull out a magic wand and cast stars! Bibbidi bobbidi boo! There’s also a new furnishing item, Wall-mounted Vampire Bats. A small, but cute addition great for decorating houses for All Saints’ Wake.

As usual with All Saints’ Wake events, you must be level 15 to do the quest. Perhaps we’ll get an event instance this time, but we can almost guarantee the Haunted Manor and hopefully the new second All Saints’ event exclusive area will return. Soon we’ll be able to turn into NPCs and emote around!

Soon FFXIV will get spookier as All Saints’ Wake returns for 2023.
