All Sigils locations in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ), explained

Now THIS is a mystery

Modern Warfare Zombies was light on mysteries at launch, to the disdain of hardcore Zombies players. That’s quickly changed with Season 1, throwing all kinds of cryptic puzzles at players. If the Sigils have you stumped, let me show you All Sigils locations in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ), explained.

How to get all Sigils in Modern Warfare Zombies

There are 4 Sigils to track down, and I strongly recommend attempting this task with a friend or, ideally, a squad. These tasks will take you into Tier 3 areas, so bring your best gear or take a few moments when you arrive on the Map to get set up.

The first Sigil is the Locked Diary, hidden behind the Act 4 Mission, Bad Signal. We’ve got an in-depth guide for this quest, but there’s a brutally tough boss battle at the end that you’ll want to face with a squad. This boss is like the Act 3 Worm boss but on steroids. Your opponent has a ridiculous amount of health and hits like a freight train. Keep your distance at all costs and deal as much damage as you can from cover.

The remaining Sigils are (thankfully) easier to obtain and are each locked behind two objectives. First, you must find the item by completing a specific task. Once you have the object, you must upgrade it by entering an Aether Tear, which will teleport you into the air. Once airborne, enter a colored rift where you’ll find a unique Bounty Contract. Upon clearing the contract, you’ll find the upgraded Sigil in the Reward Rift.

Here’s each Sigil and how to get it:

Pill Bottle

The Pill Bottle is quite straightforward, and you need Brain Rot ammunition in your gun. Head to any Aether Nest and shoot a Cyst once with your Brain Rot ammo. When you do this, the Cyst will turn green and become a Toxic Cyst.

Interact with the Toxic Cyst to obtain the Pill Bottle. The problem is you’ll need to hold the interact button for roughly 6 seconds, and you’re vulnerable to attack the entire time. A Decoy Grenade will work wonders, or get cover from a friend.

After you’ve waited for the interact timer to expire, you can grab the Purple Pill Bottle from the Cyst.

To upgrade the Pill Bottle, enter an Aether Tear, fly into the green rift, and complete the Bounty inside. Once the target is defeated, the Gold Version of the Pill Bottle will be in the Aether Reward selection. Beware that the Bounty can take you into a Tier 3 zone, so ensure you’ve got the appropriate gear.

Surveillance Camera

Like the Pill Bottle, obtaining the Surveillance Camera requires special ammunition. This time, ensure you have Dead Wire ammo equipped.

To get the Surveillance Camera, you must shoot an Aether Ball with your Dead Wire weapon. When you destroy it, you’ll find the Camera among the rewards.

To upgrade the Camera to its gold version, find an Aether Tear, drop into the Yellow Rift, and take the Bounty Contract inside. Once you’ve completed the Bounty, the Gold Surveillance Camera will await you inside the Reward Rift.

Dog Collar

For the Dog Collar, find a Dog House on the Map and interact with it. Unfortunately, these Kennels spawn at random but can be found in Tier 1 areas where the risk is lowest. Place a Molotov Cocktail and a Chunk of Flesh inside. Your offerings will prompt a regular Hell Hound to spawn, and it will drop a Purple Dog Collar when defeated.

As with the other Sigils, enter an Aether Tear and seek out the Red Portal. Once inside, grab the Bounty Contract, and when the enemy is defeated, you’ll find the upgraded Collar inside the Reward Rift.
