As you explore the wilderness in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll come to realize it is densely packed with secrets, events, and alternate routes. One important area you’ll need to visit is The Risen Road, but getting there can take some doing. Here is our guide outlining all the ways to get to The Risen Road in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – all ways to get to The Risen Road

If you’re like me, you’ll hear about a character named Karlach pretty early in your journey. A point appears on the map to let you know where you might find her, but it seems out of reach when you start exploring. To get to The Risen Road, you must cross the winding river northwest of Druid Grove.

The first way to cross the river and reach The Risen Road is to head north from where you first meet Scratch. In case you haven’t yet had that interaction, head west from the Druid Grove area. Cross the wide bridge and then veer north ahead of the Blighted Village. You will find a white dog that has recently lost its master. You can befriend Scratch and let him detect your scent. That way, he’ll show up back at your camp later in the adventure. After meeting the pooch, head north to reach the river. The red arrow on the above map indicates the point where you can cross.

At the river, jump along some boulders (it took me two jumps) to safely cross the stream. The road is then just a short distance to the north. Karlach waits further east, on the opposite side of a log that spans the same river.

A second way to cross the river and reach The Risen Road is to use the ruined bridge northwest of the Blighted Village. The village itself is a dangerous area, with a tough encounter triggered as you enter the front gate. After banging my head against that for a bit, I found I could climb some ledges just ahead of that archway. Then I crossed through the village’s north side to access a convenient waypoint.

From the waypoint, a road leads north and then turns northwest to reach a wide stone bridge. The bridge has seen better days. A gap prevents you from walking north to your intended destination. However, you can leap across the gap. Then you should proceed north a short distance to arrive at the road’s central portion. Karlach is to the east, past some dangerous hyenas.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on Steam.
