Apex Legends Season 5 Fortune's Favor trailer abilities Legend Loba

Apex Legends season 5 launch trailer shows off new legend Loba

Thief's calling.

The newest member of the Apex Legends roster is seeking revenge. You may remember Loba Andrade as the small girl in the Season 4 trailer from early in the year. She was reintroduced in late April, this time all grown up and sporting a fancy white outfit and metal cane. In the Season 5 — Fortune’s Favor launch trailer, we get a glimpse on Loba’s abilities, which you’ll be able to try out yourself on May 12.

In the trailer, Loba is out on a mission of vengeance. Revenant, a murderous machine and playable legend, killed her parents when she was a child. And now, she’s on a literal headhunt to take him out of the picture for good. Naturally, things don’t go as planned and she has to improvise. But botched plans aside, it does give us a look at what she’ll be able to do on the battlefield.

Loba shows off a couple clear abilities in the trailer. The first and most obvious is a teleportation device, which she can throw and warp to. Naturally, we imagine Loba players being able to warp onto high buildings to find loot, or away from danger when surrounded by foes. Her second ability allows her to “pull” weapons from a distance. If the trailer is true to this ability, she’ll be able to grab weapons from very far away. She also uses her metal cane in the trailer, shredding robots left and right.

Live for Season 5

Apex Legends Season 5 begins a week from today on May 12. Other than the new legend Loba, the season will bring in other updates as well. A new battle pass, bringing more than 100 items such as Legendary skins, Apex Packs and more, is on its way. The season also introduces treasure quests, which is somewhat apropos with the fortune hunter Loba.

Developer Respawn is also making some changes for Ranked Leagues, while keeping what worked in Series 3. The developer states that ranked split season is working as intended, and there won’t be any updates to it in Series 4. It also said that switching maps turned out well, and will continue to change the playfields around.

There’s more coming to Apex Legends next week, so be sure to check out the official page for more.
