Baldur’s Gate 3 player turned to gold and somehow received permanent buffs

The Midas touch.

Not sure if this was intentional or just a glitch, but whatever it is you should make use of it. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player turned to gold from an enemy encounter and somehow received permanent buffs for the entirety of Act 2.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player kept all resistances in Act 2 after being turned to gold

When this one Baldur’s Gate 3 player on Reddit fought against Gerringothe Thorm, the Toll Collector, they were turned to gold and received resistance to all damage types, but somehow these buffs became permanent. This player explained how three out of the four party members turned to gold and exploded. Their Tav was the last man standing and was able to end the fight, reviving their party members afterward.

Little did they know that the resistance they gained after being turned to gold would stick with them. The photo they shared on Reddit displayed resistance to all damage types, which is an incredible buff to get. It’s only supposed to stay on you while you’re gold, but they managed to glitch the game.

Even though these buffs remained after many Long Rests, they sadly disappeared sometime during Act 3. The player was not sure exactly when it happened or why, but at least it can last for quite a while. BG3 fans in the replies are sharing similar stories, such as one reply stating “Meanwhile I lost the ‘permanent’ bonus from Auntie Ethel’s hair the first time I fast-traveled.”

There seem to be many players who have experienced weird glitches with the permanent and temporary buffs. But if you’re playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and still haven’t faced the Toll Collector, I urge you to try getting this permanent buff. It would be great to have it during the latter half of Act 2.

Even after more than half a year of BG3 being released, players are continuously finding secrets and new things to talk about. Speaking of secrets, another player managed to find a secret passage almost no one knows about.
