The Crossbow in Modern Warfare Zombies is a slow-firing weapon, and you must reload constantly. It’s not the best gun to take with you in multiplayer. However, in Zombies, the gameplay is so different that Crossbow can be effective. To make matters better here’s the best Crossbow loadout in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ).

As mentioned, the weapon is slow and can be cumbersome even in Zombies. This loadout will lean into the speed to match its damage, so dealing with things like Aether Nests can be easier.
Crossbow attachments
- Cable: 28-Strand Cable
- Arm: SO Momenti
- Stock: FORGE TAC Speedtrak
- Bolt: Blastcap 20” Bolts
- Optic: Luca Bandera Scope
First, with the 28” Strand Cable, you can fire at longer ranges allowing you to fight safely from a distance. Paring this feat with the SO Momenti increases the distance and damage a little, which is needed. Since the Crossbow has a slower ADS time, Speedtrak shortens the time, making it easier to shoot with accuracy. The highlight of these attachments is the Bolt, the Blastcaps. When you shoot one and it lands, there’s a time detonation that could hurt other zombies around it. In short, you don’t need to make your shots count the Blastcap will do damage as long as you hit something.
Crossbow equipment
- Secondary: Any assault rifle or battle rifle
- Field Upgrade: Frost Blast
- Tactical: Stun Grenade
- Lethal: Semtex
While the load attachments above can help the speed, it’s still not that fast. To combat that, try going into a match with an assault or a battle rifle. This way, when things get too hot when using the Crossbow, you can swap them with an automatic gun. Combining the Stun Grenade and the Frost, you can slow down zombies in their path, making it easier to down. If you can control the flow of the battle, you can overcome quite a bit with the Crossbow. Since this loadout calls for the Blastcap that gives out further damage after landing, the Semtex can help emphasize that damage. This results in wiping the hoards away in no time.
