There are plenty of builds available per Mastery, but if you’re looking for the best of the best, here is the build you should go for.

Last Epoch: What is the best Mage build

Although Spellblade and Sorcerer have some pretty cool builds, Runemaster is the best Mage Mastery in Last Epoch and has the best build of the three Masteries. The best Mage build in Last Epoch is by far the Spark Charge Runemaster.

Best Spark Charge Runemaster build

Focusing on electrifying Lightning spells, the Spark Charge Runemaster is a pretty tanky build that can decimate enemies easily. This is also great for survivability with its Ward generation. While it’s more of a melee build with Enchant Weapon and Mana Strike, Lightning Blast hits enemies from afar. Flame Ward acts as a defense by granting Ward, and Frost Claw can be triggered with melee attacks with this specific build (replace with the Teleport skill in your hotbar).

Best Spark Charge Runemaster Skills and Specializations

  • Mana Strike
    • Mana Spark 1/3
    • Spark Charges 4/4

    • Fen of the Frozen 3/3
    • Brightfrost 3/3
    • Hand of Morditas 1/1
    • Volley of Glass 1/1

Mana Strike will be your main skill, and although it starts as a melee skill, Teleporting Strikes turns it into a ranged attack. While Rune Sap increases this spell’s damage, you also have Spirit Blade and Repulsing Strikes to knock back enemies in a wide area. Lightning Blast is soon replaced by Runic Invocation, which is the main ability that a Runemaster has.

Frost Claw is another skill that’ll get replaced by Teleport to get out of sticky situations. Flame Ward comes in handy if you can’t Teleport and need some good defense. Lightning Ward converts Fire into Lightning damage, and skills like Dual Aegis and Stalwart Defense grant you extra charges and Wards. Enchant Weapon is great when you have Fulminate to Shock enemies and Celerity for improved melee attack speed.
