At the time of writing, there are 10 known Magickal Bows in Dragon’s Dogma 2. With that said, not all are created equal. Let’s go over our pick for the five best Magickal Bows in the game.

5. Metered Catharsis

The Metered Catharsis is one of the best bows available in the mid-game, boasting a base Magick stat of 260. What makes this bow so great is that it deals additional damage to humanoid enemies, such as bandits and thieves, as well as guards you may have aggroed. Considering a few side quests mainly put you against human enemies, the Metered Catharsis is a must.

Players can find the Metered Catharsis in a chest within the Echoing Depths in the Battahl region.

The Militant Dove is probably one of the most unique Magickal Bows in Dragon’s Dogma 2 due to its ability to heal the wielder. Standing still with the Militant Dove equipped will replenish your health, which is tremendously helpful when you are low on consumables and in the middle of a tough fight. Not only that, but it also has a high Magick and Knockdown Power stat.

The Militant Dove can be purchased from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 48000 gold. Make sure you have a pawn with you who speaks Elvish so you can communicate with the merchant.

3. Siocadh

While the Siocadh Magickal Bow doesn’t have the highest Magick stat, it makes up for it with its Ice Enchantment. The Siocadh deals 140% Ice damage to its arrows, freezing enemies in their tracks and slowing them down. Pair the Siocadh with the Frostseeker Bolt skill, which also applies Ice damage, and your enemies will constantly freeze and be immobile. This is why the Siocadh Magickal Bow is one of the best in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

What are you waiting for? Go pick one up for yourself. Players can get the Siocadh Magickal Bow from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 18800 gold. Just remember to bring a pawn who can speak Elvish.

The Dragon’s Breath is one of the strongest Magickal Archers in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that is “infused with the magick of a dragon’s breath.” In other words, it unleashes fiery arrows at your opponents that deal top-notch damage. Many players will find themselves getting through most of the endgame with Dragon’s Breath, myself included.

The good news is that Dragon’s Breath can be obtained in more than a couple of ways. It can be purchased at the Volcanic Island Armory or received as a reward from Gautstafr after completing thePut a Spring in Thy Step” side quest. Dragon’s Breath also becomes available during the endgame at most smithys.

1. Grianmhar

Grianmhar is my go-to Magickal Bow when I play as the Magick Archer vocation simply because it has the highest damage output out of all other options. It has the highest base Magick stat out of the entire game, coming in at a whopping 420. Not only that, but the Grianmhar deals additional damage against draconic species such as Drakes and Lesser Dragons. These species are the most challenging enemies in the game, so the Grianmhar is a must to go against them.

Getting the Grianmhar Magickal Bow is not easy and will take some work. It can be purchased from the Bay Wayside Shrine for 110 Wyrmslife Crystals, a rare material that only drops from draconic species.

There you have it—the best Magickal Bows in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Here’s a pro tip: when you upgrade your bow, enhance through Elven at Sacred Arbor. They focus on greatly increasing Magick Attack, which is key to creating a great Magick Archer build.
