Best way to defeat Ares fast in Fortnite

Each Greek God you face in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will challenge you differently, so you need to adapt to new strategies on the fly. Ares will require some thought and a little creativity. To learn the best way to defeat Ares in Fortnite, you should read these tips

Fortnite: How to find Ares

First, you have to find the God of War — that’s the easy part. When you first get into a game, look for Brawler’s Battleground. It’ll be in south eastern section of the map. By going here, you may be able to find the Pantheon Path as well. 

When you make it to the landmark, you have to trigger the fight but before you do that, look for any chests in the area. Ares is kind of challenging, you will need a heavy-hitting weapon to take him on. While fighting him, I found that this area has tons of high-end weapons like Zeus’s Thunderbolts. So make sure you loot before starting the fight. 

To trigger the fight, you must look for a statue to destroy. Once that’s done his minions will appear. Defeat them to fill the bar. After that, Ares will drop from the sky. 

How to defeat Ares easily in Fortnite

If you looted the area before starting the fight, you should be well-equipped with powerful weapons. However, that won’t be enough. You need to keep moving and have a weapon that has a large magazine. This is because you’ll be attacked by more minions as well. With less time reloading, you can output more damage. When you’re not static, Ares can’t shoot you, and the minions will miss all their shots.

However, I used a shotgun to fight Ares and his minions. This weapon can be helpful because Ares has armor. At least three of four shots of the shotgun should negate the shield. If you have an assault rifle, use that afterward to chip away at his health at a high rate. 

What rewards do I get?

By defeating Ares you get one of the new medallions: The Aspect of Combat. He may also drop the Ares Warforged Assault Rifle. I may have faced a bug while fighting him because the assault rifle didn’t appear for me. If that happens to you, restart the game and head back into a match. It’s a numbers game, so hopefully you get it eventually.
