Destiny 2 Unending Tempest Guide

Destiny 2: Unending Tempest best perks & location

Bring the thunder.

The Unending Tempest is a new Submachine Gun in Destiny 2 introduced in Season 22. It deals Stasis damage and has a surprisingly high Range stat. So it’s got a lot going for it already. And the community seems to like this gun, especially for perks suited towards PvP. Plus, since it’s new to this season, you have a chance to earn a ton of variations for this weapon by playing the game. So, here’s how you can get the Unending Tempest yourself and what its best perks are in Destiny 2.

How to find the Unending Tempest in Destiny 2

You can find the Unending Tempest in Destiny 2 by completing Crucible matches. The gun has a random chance of being earned as you play through the mode. So if you’re a big PvP player there’s a high chance you’ve already scored this gun a few times. But if you’ve been unlucky and haven’t found it yet, keep playing Crucible and you’ll eventually get it. But when you do, you’ll want to have some perks that make this weapon incredible.

Unending Tempest best perks

The Unending Tempest actually has a few perks that the community has requested for a long time now. Most of them will be geared towards PvP, but it also works wonders in PvE with the right combo of perks. Here are some of the perks that you absolutely need to keep an eye out for:

Best general perks:

  • Corkscrew Rifling (+5 Stability, +5 Range, +5 Handling) or Smallbore (+7 Stability, +7 Range)
  • Tactical Mag (+1 Magazine, +10 Reload Speed, +5 Stability) or Flared Magwell (+15 Reload Speed, +5 Stability)
  • Demolitionist, Enlightened Action, or Subsistence
  • Adrenaline Junkie, Headstone, or Frenzy

My personal choice:

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Flared Magwell
  • Demolitionist
  • Headstone

The real charm of the Unending Tempest come from two perks it can have. Demolitionist makes it so kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Then when you use a grenade while the weapon is stowed, you’ll also reload the Unending Tempest from reserves. This benefits nearly every class in Destiny 2 because who wouldn’t want to lob more grenades around the place. Headstone makes it so Precision Final Blows spawn a Stasis crystal at the victim’s location.

Of course Headstone is not the only solid option out of all the choices we have. On another day I might prefer Adrenaline Junkie which increases the Unending Tempest’s damage and handling with final blows from this gun or grenades. I would say that Demolitionist is really the gun’s best perk though. So keep an eye out for that the next time you get an Unending Tempest in your inventory in Destiny 2.
