Shadow Demon’s not actually directly affected much by the patch. His Shadow Poison has a bigger AoE, so he’s going to be even more annoying than before, but beyond that…

Patch 6.79 for Dota 2 – the patch which heavily rebalances most of the current heroes, and changes the way a lot of the basic mechanics work – is now out.

The 172 meg patch does such wonderful things as “make the Roshan timer semi-random” and “change the way buybacks work” and “increase Broodmother’s web size to span small countries” and “make everyone laugh at Batrider.” If you want to have a gander at some of what’s included, have a looksee here to see me going OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY CHANGED THIS in text form. If you’d prefer to just look at the incredibly massive list of patch notes without my panicked commentary (and no-one could blame you for that) then click here instead.

Dota 2 should auto-update as soon as you sign into Steam. I suppose this means I’m going to have to go and edit my newbie guides, doesn’t it?
