E3 2021 2022 canceled

Details for E3 2021’s online portal and app revealed, virtual booths included

What's next? A fourth E?

It’s that time of the year again. Despite the pandemic ruining everything forever, E3 2021’s online portal and app details have been revealed. Even though we’re still staying away from each other, we’ll still get all those exciting game announcements. Most of you were going to watch it on YouTube anyway, so you can stop grimacing. Who do you think you are? I just really hope there’s a Jet Set Radio announcement of some kind. Don’t tell me I can’t have my hope.

E3 2021 is still scheduled for June, so it’s coming up fast. To hype us up, the ESA is giving us a peek into what we can expect from this year’s all-virtual E3. Both the online portal and its related app will be central to the E3 2021 experience, which will include events, virtual booths, video conferencing, and not having to put pants on. And isn’t that the dream right there?

Stanley Pierre-Louis, the president and CEO of the ESA, had the following to say: “From the moment we decided to host E3 virtually, we’ve been focused on providing an interactive experience for fans around the globe that goes beyond the typical live stream. The result is a bespoke online portal and app that will allow fans, media, and industry professionals to have an E3 experience designed to run parallel to the four-day broadcast, laying the foundation for interactive E3 elements to continue beyond this year’s all-virtual show.”

Additionally, there will be the official E3 2021 live broadcast, which will have interactive overlays with featured tweets and polls. The event will run from June 12 through 15, so there will be days of gaming goodness available to us. As always, you can check out the official E3 site for all of the latest updates and be disappointed by the lack of a Jet Set Radio Future PC port all over again.
