How to survive against ghosts at night in Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity

The day-night cycle in Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity takes roughly an hour or so. The portion of the game in each cycle lasts in less than 10 minutes, but it’s a harrowing experience if you’re not prepared. When it’s about to occur, a notification saying that “Night is coming” pops up at the top of your screen. Now, most of the enemies you’ve encountered will still be around. You’ll still have to contend with tribal soldiers and wild animals. The key difference here is that ghosts have appeared, too. These are, according to Vaas, the spirits of the people that he’s killed in the past, and they’re out for revenge.

Thankfully, the ghosts in Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity are easy to kill. A single bullet is enough to make them disappear into the ether. In fact, if you line them up, bullets will pass through and hit anyone behind them, including other spirits. Like other mobs, they’ll drop cash rewards as well.

There are just a couple of pesky concerns:

  • If you’re moving stealthily most of the time, then that’s okay. However, the moment any of your weapons without a silencer goes off, then you can expect several ghosts to swarm you since their aggro radius is massive. Compared to regular soldiers, they’ll often know where you are, and they’ll beeline for your current location. There were even instances when I’d see some of them running from the opposite hill just to get to me.
  • If they get too close, they will explode and deal massive damage. It’s usually enough to drop you down to a sliver of health. Because there are other hostiles, the combination of this spectral explosion and enemy gunfire might kill Vaas. Oh, and you definitely cannot and should not perform takedowns on them.

In any case, after a few minutes pass, the night cycle in Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity will end. You can go out and about exploring at your leisure once more. Alternatively, when the night cycle is about to begin, you can just chill inside a Safe House until it’s daytime once more.
