Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Should you choose Varvados, Garm, or Rosa as your beloved?

Who you choose as your beloved will change the dialogue.

During the Loveless performance at the Gold Saucer in FF7 Rebirth, you will participate in a minigame as Alphreid and fight in an epic battle against Varvados, Garm, and Rosa. At one point during the Loveless minigame, you are tasked with choosing your beloved.

So, who should you choose? Varvados, Garm, or Rose? This guide explains all outcomes.

All Loveless minigame outcomes in FF7 Rebirth

When choosing between Varvados (Barrett), Garm (Red XIII), or Rose (Aerith or Tifa) as your beloved, just know that no matter the choice you make, you will fight against Varvados and Garm in the final battle of the minigame. Additionally, Rose will take your side even if you don’t choose her, and she will help you win the battle.

However, the dialogue in the Loveless performance will change depending on who you choose as your beloved.

Choosing Varvados as your beloved

If you choose Varvados as your beloved, he will be confused and say, “Are you serious right now?” and slowly start to grab your hand. He will then snap out of it and attack you with Garm, commencing the final fight.

Choosing Garm as your beloved

Meanwhile, if you choose Garm as your beloved, he says, “Alphreid?” and reaches out to touch Alphreid’s hands. Varvados will interrupt this short love sequence and demand that Garm join him. Garm will then exclaim that Alphreid is “toying with his emotions,” and then the final battle will commence.

Choosing Rosa as your beloved

The last choice you can make is choosing Rosa as your beloved, which is the best outcome. After choosing Rosa, who is Aerith or Tifa depending on your Gold Saucer date, Alphred and she will do a little dance together. They go in for a kiss, but it’s soon interrupted by Varvados, who says, “Love is naught but an illusion!” Then, the final battle will commence.

In other words, your choice here only matters if you care about the dialogue you receive. If you want to see all dialogue happen for yourself, save it before the minigame and reload that saved file to see all outcomes.
