The first performance that’s available is called “An Old Friend’s Send-off.” If you track it using the event panel, you’ll see a musical note marker close to where you fought Azhdaha. You should see a strange glow. Interact with it to start your performance.

Performances in Tuned to the World’s Sounds

As mentioned earlier, this event is akin to the Ballads of Breeze from the Windblume Festival. Basically, it’s Genshin Impact meets O2 Jam. You’ll hear music playing, and you’ll see several circular outlines called Rhythm Rings. These appear for any of these keys: W, A, S, D, I, J, K, L. Naturally, you’ll want to hit the keys just when the Rhythm Ring is touching the outline.

There are two important differences here. The first is that there’s a companion with you (AI-controlled) who’ll play on his or her own. That means a portion of the performance has you just chilling and waiting for the next set of presses.

The second is that you’ll also notice long strips of light. Instead of a quick button press, you need to do the following:

  • Do the initial button press when the ring flashes.
  • Keep that key held down while the strip of light is cascading.
  • Let go of the key only when the second ring touches the outline.

There are moments when you need to keep a key held down while also pressing others. Likewise, there are instances when multiple keys need to be held down at the same time. It’s a bit challenging, but you need to master this mechanic. That’s because the longer a button is held down, the higher the combo points you’ll earn to add to your score multiplier.
