Talents and Skills

  • Normal Attack: Toss N’ Turn Spear – You can completely ignore this one.
  • Elemental Skill: Raphanus Sky Cluster – Although it has a snazzy name, it’s basically a skill that makes Yaoyao toss a rabbit. The rabbit will spew White Jade Radishes, which will either deal Dendro damage or heal friendlies.
    • If the HP of an active character/co-op teammate is below 70%, the rabbit will prioritize healing. The amount scales based on Yaoyao’s max HP.
    • If no one needs immediate healing, the rabbit will throw radishes at nearby enemies.
    • There’s a fairly small AoE radius, too. That means a radish can heal someone and damage foes if they’re really close.
  • Elemental Burst: Moonjade Descent – This summons additional bunnies (up to three extra ones) that also throw radishes. However, this Adeptal Legacy state/effect will dissipate if Yaoyao is off-field.
    • Although the radish effects are akin to the elemental skill, the damage coefficient for this is based on the elemental burst’s level.
    • Radishes heal all party members.
    • +15% movement speed for Yaoyao.
    • +Dendro resistance for Yaoyao.

Passive talents

  • Tailing on Tiptoes – If Yaoyao is in your party, you won’t immediately startle Crystalflies in the area.
  • Starscatter – After activating her burst, Yaoyao will constantly throw White Jade Radishes at enemies when she sprints or jumps; can be triggered every 0.6 seconds.
  • In Others’ Shoes – When a White Jade Radish explodes, active characters within its range will regen HP based on 0.8% of Yaoyao’s max HP; lasts five seconds.

Constellations

  • C1: Adeptus’ Tutelage – When a White Jade Radish explodes, characters gain +15% Dendro damage for eight seconds and have +15 stamina restored.
  • C2: Innocent – After activating her burst, Yaoyao gains +3 energy when White Jade Radishes damage enemies.
  • C3: Loyal and Kind – +3 elemental skill level; max upgrade level of 15.
  • C4: Winsome – After using her skill or burst, Yaoyao’s elemental mastery is increased by 0.3% of her max HP for eight seconds; maximum of 120 EM.
  • C5: Compassionate – +3 elemental burst level; max upgrade level of 15.
  • C6: Beneficent – For every two White Jade Radishes thrown by the initial rabbit from the skill or burst, a Mega Radish will be tossed:
    • Larger AoE.
    • AoE Dendro damage based on 75% of Yaoyao’s ATK.
    • Heals the active character for 7.5% of Yaoyao’s max HP.
    • Maximum of two Mega Radishes per cycle.

Talent/constellation priorities and summary

Yaoyao is a healing machine in Genshin Impact, with some benefits for Dendro-based applications, too:

  • Talent priority: Elemental skill > elemental burst > normal attack (ignore).
  • The reason for the above is because of the difference between the rabbits spawned by the skill and burst. The skill allows the rabbit to stick around even if you swap out Yaoyao (i.e., akin to Xiangling’s Guoba). Conversely, the burst causes the Adeptal Legacy state. Although it creates more rabbits (and radishes), the effect will disappear if Yaoyao leaves the field.
  • The skill can be used for Dendro applications and steady healing (for your active character). The burst, meanwhile, provides huge DPS and more reactions, though Yaoyao has to be on-field for several seconds. It’s viable, but try not to let it ruin your rotations depending on your setup.
  • Don’t forget to sprint or jump often after using her burst so you can toss extra radishes.
  • For constellations, Yaoyao is fine at C0 owing to her utility. Still, you can opt for C2, which grants additional energy to fill up her burst meter.

That’s it for Yaoyao’s best talents. Let’s discuss her best team comps and best weapons/artifacts in the next parts of our Genshin Impact Yaoyao guide series.
