Gold Ability Empowerment in Destiny 2 – explained

Unlimited power.

When tearing through the Guardian Games in Destiny 2, your Guardian will receive plenty of new buffs and bonuses. While playing through certain challenges, you may have seen the Gold Ability Empowerment buff show up in Destiny 2. Here’s how and why that happens.

How to get Gold Ability Empowerment

To achieve Gold Ability Empowerment in the Destiny 2 Guardian Games, you first need to achieve the gold score in an event. This can be done by racking up a high score with your team. As you work your way through nightfalls and competitive playlists, you will move through the various ranks. Once you reach gold, you will start seeing this buff appear in the Guardian Games.

Getting those medals and cranking up the score can be done in several ways. The first and best way to get your score closer to the gold level is with kills. The more stylish the kills, the better the score. Try to get finishers on anything with a yellow bar or higher for much better results. The earlier you get the Gold Ability Empowerment, the better.

Once you have breached the Gold score limit, you will be notified with an onscreen message. You can now start stacking the Ability Empowerment on your Guardian.

What does Gold Ability Empowerment do?

The Gold Ability Empowerment is so overpowered, in my opinion. As you rack up kills with it enabled, your Ability will recharge at a much higher rate. The higher your Gold Amility Empowerment, the quicker it will recharge. With certain builds, this means you can use your Super almost constantly. It’s great fun but not particularly appropriate all the time.

You can keep the run of Gold Ability Empowerment up for most of a challenge once you have surpassed the required score. It will make killing enemies much easier. However, be aware that killing bosses, minibosses, and champions with your Super will reward a much lower score than a finisher. If you’re looking to get that platinum score, refrain from using your Super to kill everything.

The Guardian Games are all about racking up medals, and using your super certainly isn’t the best way to do it. Weapons, finishers, and emote finishers will give the most medals. So, try to only use that seemingly endless finisher when you’re in a tight spot or to do chunk damage.
