Blur-be-gone. It reveals some quite bad textures, but at least you won’t feel like you have cataracts.
One of the more disappointing aspects of Grid Autosport is the low quality of the returning cockpit cam view. The car interiors are low quality and everything on the dashboard is covered in an eye-bothering blur.
A helpful modder who credits himself as “SirogaUA” in the readme.txt has released a quick fix for the blur. Removing it reveals some rather low quality textures, but if the blur is bothering you at least it can now be removed. You can grab the necessary .zip file over here.
To install, unpack the zip and switch the included “cars” folder with the one in your Steam folder (most likely Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/common/Grid Autosport/cars). Make a backup of the original cars folder first if you’re nervous about doing this.
All the mod does is remove the blur filter, so don’t expect rear view mirrors to suddenly start working or anything like that.
Modding Grid Autosport in this way shouldn’t risk an online ban, as the game doesn’t make use of the VAC system.
