Hearthstone Voyage To The Sunken City Expansion

The next expansion to Hearthstone, Voyage to the Sunken City, is coming in April

Deep into the ocean.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the next Hearthstone expansion, Voyage to the Sunken City. The underwater-themed expansion will launch worldwide on April 12, adding 135 new cards to collect. Every day new cards are being unveiled via the Voyage of the Sunken City schedule. So far, 15 of the cards have been confirmed, with more following every day leading up to release.

Hearthstone players can pre-order either the Standard Bundle or Mega Bundle to prepare for the expansion. The Standard bundle provides 60 card packs for $49.99 USD. Meanwhile, the Mega Bundle costs $79.99 USD and consists of 80 card packs, five Golden packs, two random Golden Legendary cards from the expansion, and the Queen Azshara Mage hero skin.

By jumping on Hearthstone right now, users can gain access to one of the Voyage to the Sunken City cards early. Blizzard is handing out the Blademaster Okani card for free to anyone who logs in. This continues the trend of Blizzard handing out one free legendary card per expansion.

We already know that this expansion will introduce a new minion type and two new keyboards. These are Naga, Colossal, and Dredge, respectively. Naga cards give bonuses for playing spells while they are in your hand. The Colossal are giant creatures that can summon extra appendages. Finally, Dredge cards allow you to view the three cards at the bottom of your deck and pick one to move to the top.

Another expansion

Voyage to the Sunken City will be the twentieth expansion added to Hearthstone. The eight-year-old collectible card game has proven to be a huge success for Blizzard and it’s unlikely to slow down anytime soon.

Although it may not reach the player count it once did, there are still millions of players monthly who log on to play. A player base of that size plus the obvious opportunities to monetize card packs ensures that Hearthstone will stay strong.
