One important — but not often discussed — location of Hogwarts is the Owlery, where all of the owls that deliver letters to and from the school reside. If you picked Ravenclaw, are a fan of the delivery owls, and still aren’t over Hedwig’s death, Hogwarts Legacy has you covered with an interesting puzzle quest that takes place within the Owlery. Here’s how to complete the ‘Ollivander’s Heirloom’ quest in Hogwarts Legacy — exclusive to Ravenclaw.

Hogwarts Legacy: How to complete the ‘Ollivander’s Heirloom’ quest
Starting location
The prerequisite for this quest is for your character to be a member of Ravenclaw, as it is House exclusive. Gerbold Ollivander will send you a letter asking you to meet him at his shop. Travel to Hogsmeade and stop by Ollivander’s. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a Field Guide page outside the shop if you use Revelio.

Gerbold will ask you to do some detective work on his behalf. An old wand with a fairy wing core was presumably stolen by an assistant from Ollivander’s a long time ago, with the only clue to its location being Jackdaw statues hidden in the Owlery.
Floo to one of the Hogwarts Castle exits and follow the map marker all the way to the Owlery. It’s a climb uphill, but follow the path towards it and you’ll reach it.

Hogwarts Legacy: Ollivander’s Heirloom quest – The Owlery jackdaw puzzle
Once inside, cast Revelio and you’ll see a bunch of doors with handles highlighted.

Use Accio on all of them to find some gold and a Jackdaw statue. There’s also a Field Guide page in this room.

Once you’ve gutted the room of every door, climb the ladder up to the next level.

Here, there are more doors to rip off, as well as a flying Field Guide page and a statue you can Levioso to get another Field Guide page. Accio this one over to yourself to save the effort in getting over to the opposite side.

As you rip the doors open, statues will fall onto the floor below. Once you’ve taken off every door, climb back down and collect the statues off the floor.

You’ll then notice a shelf with a statue already there. Interact with it several times to place every statue back inside of it. A cutscene will play of your character being thrown to the high levels of the Owlery by a whirlwind. Afterwards, you encounter Richard Jackdaw’s ghost in the… well, he’s not exactly made of flesh anymore.

Hogwarts Legacy: How to complete the Ollivander’s Heirloom quest – Finale and reward
After explaining himself, the quest completes with him asking you to meet him at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. You’ll need the Disarming Charm to progress this quest chain further, but at least you got some gold and pages out of it.
