Campfires are a vital resource in Fortnite, providing players with a way to heal themselves and repair their vehicles. In the heat of battle, a well-placed campfire can be the difference between a Victory Royale and defeat.

Whether you need to light one for a quest or are desperately looking for heals, this article covers the location of every Campfire in Fortnite Chapter Five Season Two.

Fortnite Campfire locations

Campfires are found throughout the Fortnite map. Unless you landed on the Eastern side of the Island, you’ll always be fairly close to a lovely toasy fire. The location with the most Campfires is in the centre of the Island, around Restored Reels. Use the map provided by the folks at Fortnite.gg below to find the best spot for you.

Best place to find a Campfire in Fortnite

If you’re aiming to complete the “Light a Campfire” Fire Chakra Avatar Quest, I recommend landing at the small island below Snooty Steppes. Once your fire is lit, you can easily travel to the Fire Shrine to the East to pick up Firebending and move on to your next objective.

Keep in mind that you can’t light Campfires that have already been used and have fizzled out. If you’re in Zero Builds and don’t see a pile of wood ready to ignite, you’ll need to move on to a different location.

What do Campfires do?

In Fortnite, a lit Campfire slowly heals any player or vehicle nearby. Active fires fizzle out after a short time, but you can stoke them to increase their duration using 30 Wood (or Coal during Winterfest) in regular Battle Royale.

Lighting a Campfire is as easy as approaching one and interacting with it using the button displayed on screen (“E” on PC). In some previous seasons, players could pick up “Cozy Campfire” Traps to set one down wherever they liked. However in Chapter Five Season Four, only stationary Campfires exist.

Using any sort of splashable item, such as a Chug Splash or Chug Cannon, near a Campfire will extinguish it, so be extra careful if you’re replenishing Shield at the same time! Luckily, they can still be used in the Storm.
