There are few things more “open world” and “RPG” than fetch side quests, and Hogwarts Legacy is no exception. The very first fetch quest of the game is Gobs of Gobstones, which takes you on a journey around high places in the castle to find several different items and unlock a cosmetic feature in the game.

As much as I like collectathons in video games, finding all the Gobstones can quickly turn from fun to frustrating if you don’t know where to look. If you’re not a fan of hunting objects down, fret not — there are easy ways to do it. Here’s how to find all Gobstones and complete the Gobs of Gobstones side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.

Fast travel with Floo Powder to the Defense Against The Dark Arts Classroom. Go down the staircase and you’ll find Zenobia to the left of it.

By talking to her, you learn that fellow students have stolen and hidden her Gobstones in high places all around the school, and she would like you to get them back. Agree to help her and you’ll start the quest Gobs of Gobstones.

As a side note, I learned through other players and my own experience that any choices in dialogue you choose with Zenobia (or any character in Hogwarts Legacy for that matter) save saying you don’t want to help outright, don’t matter.

Before heading out, I recommend setting the quest as your focus quest by right-clicking it in the quest menu. It makes hunting them down a lot easier from this point out.

Gobstone #1

The first Gobstone is in the Transfiguration Courtyard above the roof of the stone overhang. For this Gobstone and most others, you’ll need to use Accio to bring it to you and collect it. Do that and you’ll have the first Gobstone.

After claiming it, you’ve officially found all six. Floo back to the Defense Against The Dark Arts Classroom and down the stairs again back to Zenobia. You can choose to give her Gobstones back or keep them for yourself. Either way, you complete the quest and unlock the Orbicular – Violet Wand Handle, the very first Wand Handle of the game.

Try it on your wand by selecting the wand from the gear screen. If you’re still figuring out what wand is best, might I suggest our best wand customization guide?
