Land like a cat!

One of the main things you’ll be doing in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is skydiving. If you’re wondering how to avoid fall damage in Tears of the Kingdom, we have an answer for you.

There are a few steps you’ll need to take in order to figure out how to avoid fall damage in Tears of the Kingdom. First of all, you’ll need to acquire the Glide Armor set. This includes the Glide Shirt, Glide Tights, and Glide Mask.

If you read our guides on obtaining this armor set, each is located on a specific sky island. Bravery, Valor, and Courage Island each make Link take a dive test before a certain time limit. The reward for completing this test is one piece of the Glide Armor.

Once you have all three, your skydiving mobility is heavily increased while wearing them. Sadly, you’re not done yet, since this set needs some upgrading before it can eliminate fall damage. Have you found a Great Fairy Fountain yet? There are four in total across Hyrule, each nearby a stable. If you complete the quest to coax the Great Fairy out of hiding, she can then upgrade your armor.

Not only will you need to upgrade this set once, but twice. The bad news is that a Great Fairy will only be able to upgrade a second time if she’s stronger. For this to happen, you’ll need to at least get two Great Fairies out of hiding. Once each piece of the Glide Armor has a 2-star rating, wearing it while skydiving will prevent fall damage from any height.
