How to build a berry plantation in Palworld

Unfortunately, your "volunteer workers" need to be fed.

In Palworld, the Berry Plantation is needed to advance a Base Mission and to make feeding your Pals automated. It’s simple to build, but a little more complex to operate.

How to unlock and build a Berry Plantation in Palworld

The Berry Plantation in Palworld is unlocked at level 5 and costs 3 Berry Seeds, 20 Wood, and 20 Stone to build. You can easily find Berry Seeds by harvesting from the many clusters of Berry Bushes around Palworld.

You’ll need this built to advance one of the Base Missions, so if you’re struggling, it may be because you haven’t unlocked it yet. Go level up some more if you need to (hint: capturing Pals is the best way to do this!).

Choose a suitable spot in the boundaries of your base and build it. Any local captured Pals with Handiwork will help you with the build.

Building the plantation was the easy part. Keeping it operated, however, is another thing entirely.

How to automate the Berry Plantation in Palworld

You can plant, water, and harvest the Berry Plantation all by yourself, but every step takes a while if you’re doing it by yourself. Thankfully, Pals have work skills that can help with each step.

The Planting ability allows Pals to automatically plant the Berry Plantation themselves whenever it needs doing, and you don’t even need spare Berry Seeds to do it. Make sure you’ve got a Pal that can do this assigned to your base. A good one for the early game is Gumoss, who spawns in many regions on the map. Head a little north from the first spawn and you’ll find them.

The next step is watering. Pengullet is a great Pal you can find early on near large bodies of water.

Finally, any Pal that can gather, which is a whole lot of them, can harvest the grown crop when the Berries are grown.

All you’ll need now is a Pal that can transport. Again, most Pals in the early game will help you out with that. Make sure there’s a Feed Box near the Berry Plantation for easy transporting. This way, your food reserves will keep getting stocked and your Pals can eat straight from the harvest without your intervention.

Note that some Pals will help with more than one of these steps, so if you can, try to field Pals that can help with as many things as possible.

There you have it! Soon, even with just one Berry Plantation, you’ll be drowning in Berries.

Now that you know all about the Berry Plantation in Palworld, why don’t you learn how to unlock and use the Egg Incubator?
