How to build the Futurama ship in Starfield

Your crew is replaceable, sure, but what about the cargo?

Starfield is a game of possibilities and freedom. One of the main draws to the game was the feature to design and build your own ships, to explore the galaxy in your own style. Being a sci-fi game, it was only a matter of time before someone bridged the gap between another sci-fi production: Futurama. Using the ship builder, Mida Life Crisis has built the Planet Express, the ship that Fry and the crew use in the show. Do you want to travel in style?

Building the ship from Futurama in Starfield

Mida Life Crisis goes over all the steps he used to construct the Planet Express, also referred to as Old Bessie, from Futurama in Starfield. He goes through a lot of parts, so you’ll be needing to travel to lots of different vendors to accumulate all of the parts you need. Not only does it look great, but has a mobility rating of 89.

The Planet Express has been a beloved constant of Futurama, whether it’s shown as a technological marvel or a dilapidated vehicle depending on the episode. It was created by Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth as yet another ship after his previously failed crews and exploits.

The ship built by Mida Life Crisis pays great homage to Old Bessie, with a fantastic likeness. Not all other recreations can actually move very well, so it’s also a nice surprise to see it having some mobility behind it, making it a practical and very stylish ship. You can now officially roleplay as the Futurama crew in-game, taking the Planet Express with you. I mean, you won’t be able to visit any of the iconic Futurama planets, so you’ll really have to bend your make belief.

Other players in the comments have expressed the difficulty of getting all the parts required for the ship. Know that you won’t need every single one, and you can simply take inspiration from this take. If you wanted to make a faithful recreation, then you may be there for a while sourcing all of the parts. You’ll need to talk to many vendors and NPCs in Starfield to get everything you need, but before too long, you’ll have a functional way to move the universe around you, instead of having to move through the universe like other simple ships.

I hope you enjoyed this revelation, and that you’ll try to recreate the audacious ship yourself. For more Starfield help, pay a visit to PC Invasion.
