How to complete Elevator Out Of Order Achievement in MW3

Ziplines are more fun when you're not getting shot at.

Elevator Out Of Order is a tough Achievement to unlock. It’s got a strict timer, and you’ll need to acquire a specific item before you can even try it. Let me show you how to complete the Elevator Out Of Order Achievement in MW3 step by step.

What is the Elevator Out Of Order Achievement / Trophy in MW3?

The official description for the Achievement is as follows: Reach the roof in Highrise in under 45 seconds. You’ll know this is impossible on foot if you’ve completed the mission already. You need an Ascender, and even then, you’ve got to be fast.

It’s best to think of this Achievement as having two parts. Since we’re trying to go fast and avoid battles wherever possible, I strongly recommend dropping the difficulty down to Recruit for this one.

Find an Ascender

You don’t need to worry about the timer for the first part of the Achievement, as we will restart the mission once we have the Ascender. Restarting the mission this way also resets the timer. Make your way through the start of the stage as normal. Climb the multiple ladders up the elevator shaft and follow the path around.

When you reach this point (pictured above), jump over the barricade, out the window, and head right over the ladder.

Follow the ledge around, head into the open room, and jump onto the second floor. There are a ton of enemies in here, so I recommend dealing with them unless you want to get shot in the back. Go right and follow the path until you reach a ladder, climb up, and head outside.

You’re almost at the Ascender now. Go into the doorway (pictured above), go right, and fight through the building until you reach a closed door. Enter it, and you’ll find the Ascender waiting for you in an open box. Once you’ve picked it up, Pause the game and select “Restart Mission.”

Complete Highrise with the Ascender

Here comes the fun part! Remember, don’t engage any enemies unless absolutely necessary, as it wastes time. Run to the elevator shaft and use the Ascender on the wire instead of climbing the ladder.

Run left past the enemies and use the Ascender on the wire up the center of the stairwell. When you reach the top, take a left out of the window and use the Ascender on the zipline.

Use your Ascender on the zipline outside (pictured above), and if you’ve done it within 45 seconds, you’ll earn the Achievement. The route may take a couple of goes to get comfortable with, but you can potentially do this with 10 seconds to spare, so there’s some wiggle room.
