No Easy Way Out guide for Cyberpunk 2077

Below is your guide to help you complete No Easy Way Out in Cyberpunk 2077:

Starting the quest

To start this quest, you’ll need to have completed the Spider And The Fly quest, one of the opening missions for Phantom Liberty. Coach Fred will message you, asking you to help out his boxer friend, Aaron. Upon arriving at the location, you’ll see Fred in the middle of the fight. If you want, you can bet on the fight with the bookie, which is inexpensive, so go for it!

After the fight, Aaron will be sitting and waiting for you. All he needs is a bit of muscle to help him get to a ripperdoc. He’ll stress that this one is the only one that can help him, his only option. He’ll explain how he used to run with the Animals, and that they paid for his coaching and implants. But now he wants his independence, and to really start his boxing career. He’s got a fight coming up, and he needs that ripper’s aid.

Exhaust all the dialogue options you can to get a deep understanding of his situation, and then agree to help him. He will meet you at the objective marker. When you get there, you may need to wait on the bench for him.

Getting to Damir’s clinic

When you and Aaron are at the point, he’ll walk you over. There, he’ll explain further that the Animals fixed all of his fights. He wants to see Damir specifically as he’s the one who implanted the blocker in his chip that he wants removed, and he’s worried that another fixer would botch the delicate procedure. The Animals have him under their claw — at any time during a fight, they can remotely activate the blocker, and he’ll go down. He wants to leave them behind.

Sympathizing with the boxer more, you are now free to get to Damir’s clinic. You can approach this stage stealthily, or go guns blazing. I personally prefer to use the latter approach, as my Monowire simply gets rid of any threat, and if they’re a bit beefier, then my quickhacks will come in handy. But, it’s your V, so you do you. Simply follow the marker and dispatch of any enemies you come across.

If you’re having trouble, it could be worth performing a hybrid approach, where you use quickhacks and stealth to get rid of some opponents, reducing the pressure when you want to fire upon the rest. This works out particularly well for me.

At long last, you’ll come across a green double door, and on the other side will be Damir. He won’t be happy to see either of you. Aaron soon twists his wing, and you’ll have to wait for the operation to finish.

As Damir finishes, Angie, the boss, will come waltzing in with her muscle and will excuse Damir. You both will converse about Aaron, and you’ll have to make a bold choice on Aaron’s behalf, considering he’s still unconscious.

What should Aaron do?

Angie will claim that Aaron is still in their debt. She says that if he throws the next fight, they’ll be even. She also claims that they never had to use the blocker, as he always went down when they ordered him to in previous fights.

With all the information on the table, she’ll offer you 10% of the winnings of the Vince fight if you let it go and let him fight. Your decision will be timed, and you better make a choice.

You can either accept the deal and convince Aaron to throw the fight, refuse the deal, or threaten Angie to leave.

If you accept the deal, and leave Aaron to Angie, she’ll ping you after the fight with 10,000, your portion.

If you refuse the deal, you’ll have to fight Angie and her gang. It shouldn’t prove too difficult, just line up some quickhacks to make your life easier. You will find the Tier 5 Iconic Power Pistol Cheetah on Angie’s body. You will converse with Aaron a little, and you’ll both leave. After the fight, he’ll text you, asking to meet up after being knocked out in the fight despite his efforts. When you get to the bar, you’ll learn that he was last seen in an alley with two other guys. You’ll find his dead body in the alley. The Animals didn’t let it slide.

Threatening Angie will be successful, and you can talk to Aaron on your own and tell him what you think he should do, to throw the fight for his own safety, win the fight, or leave it up to him. If you leave it up to him, he’ll decide to throw the fight.

If you encourage him not to throw the fight, he’ll give it his best, but he’ll still get KO’d in the 10th round. At least this way, he won’t end up dead, and he’ll feel good about his new-found autonomy.

If he throws the fight, through your encouragement or from his own decision, he’ll reach out to you after the fight. Despite throwing the fight, he’ll say that he’s still somehow in their pockets. Not free just yet. But, he’s made a huge step in the right direction with your help. He’ll also tell you that he’s coaching a group of kids and that he’s good at it. This is the best ending in my opinion. He may not be free, but he’s found his calling and he’s a step closer to independence. Like the title entails, there’s no easy way out, after all.
