How to beat Ballistic Shield users in Fortnite

There are a few best ways to counter riot shields in Fortnite. When I first met players using the Ballistic Shields, I panicked and couldn’t get the kill. Now, I know exactly what to do to get rid of them.

The first tip I recommend is surrounding them. I was playing a game of Duos last night with my friend and while he shot him in the front, I ran around. This allowed us to get shots on the riot shield user and ultimately defeat him. For every strategy including this one, make sure to stay behind cover while trying to take out the riot shielder.

The second strategy I recommend is using grenades. Cluster Clingers is a new grenade that sticks onto enemies and explodes multiple times in the vicinity. If you stick a riot shield user with this, they’ll take damage from it and panic which allows you to focus on getting the kill. I’ve heard people seeing success using a Shockwave Grenade on them as well. While Shockwave Grenades won’t kill Ballistic Shield users, unless you send them into the Storm, they will allow you time to escape.

The final strategy I have for you is to shoot their feet, hands, and head. The first Ballistic Shield kill I got was by sniping them in the head since their heads do pop up from the riot shield. It’s a tough shot, but that’ll down the Ballistic Shield user immediately. You can try shooting at their feet or hand, just be sure you’re behind cover since you’ll be taking direct fire from the riot shielder.

I’ve heard that if you unload an SMG magazine into the Ballistic Shield, it will stun the player which allows you to run and jump around the player to get the kill. Experiment with that, and hopefully one of these tips will help you clutch up fights against riot shield users.
