Payday 3: How to create an account to play

Regardless of what platform you’re on, you’ll be doing the same steps across the board.

  • Head to Starbreeze Neubla, this is where you’ll be creating your account. You can access this screen within Payday 3 if you’re already in the game.
  • If you don’t have an account with Starbreeze, navigate to the bottom where it says sign up here.
  • Once you’ve made an account, select the platform you’re using at the top, and log into your profile.
  • To link your account, look for the Linked Accounts tab on the left-hand bar.
  • When this page opens, press the add link button at the bottom. You’ll get a new window showing you which platforms you can link to
  • Click on the one you want, and sign into that platform. Once that’s done, you’ll get sent back to the main page.
  • Afterward, head back into the game and sign in. You should be able to log in.

Why link accounts?

There’s something to be said for the fervor within certain gaming communities who aggressively detest any time an online game asks players to make an account first before playing. While it’s understandable that you’d want to get to the game faster, having a “main account” that can be utilized between multiple platforms is a great benefit! If you can retain your progress and perks between platforms, isn’t that already well worth the few minutes it takes to make an account in the first place?

You can also unlock more options to customize your character within the game. On top of that, it seems like you have access to more more heists, weapons, and more characters. Having an account is also a great way to keep updated with what’s going on with the game in terms of events and upcoming patches.
