The CODMAS event is now live in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. This event brings several holiday-themed tweaks to the Urzikstan map in Warzone, including the addition of holiday crates containing festive loot and powerful gear.
Where to Find Holiday Crates in Warzone
If you open your Tac Map during the CODMAS event in Warzone, you’ll see six Deck the Halls capture points scattered across Urzikstan. There, you’ll find Christmas trees that you can capture. The longer you stand near them, the more decorated they will become.
Holiday crates are the gift-wrapped “presents” surrounding these trees. Capturing the tree will grant you access to the holiday crates and the loot inside. If you decorate the tree for long enough, it will be upgraded to Tier 2 or even Tier 3, increasing the rarity of the loot that you’ll receive. You can get weapons, cash, and even killstreaks from holiday crates.
There’s also an open crate of Snowballs located near every Deck the Halls capture point. While they can be found as standard ground loot during the CODMAS event, this is the best place to find Snowballs. These are available to everyone and deal a surprising amount of damage, so don’t be afraid to use them to knock out enemies and clear a path to the tree for your squad.

Since the Deck the Halls capture points are marked on the Tac Map, the entire lobby can see them. Don’t let your guard down. Also, interacting with the tree will send a flare up into the sky to alert enemies to your position. These are highly contested zones, so make sure you and your squad are prepared for the fights that are to come.
The squad that manages to hold the capture point the longest will be rewarded with a special key. After obtaining the key, a “Merry” portal will appear. Entering the portal will allow you and your squad to face off against a zombified Juggernaut Santa. Just like with previous Warzone bosses, defeating Zombie Santa will reward you with a ton of powerful gear.
The CODMAS event will run through the rest of the year, so there’s plenty of time to complete the event challenges and earn free rewards. It’s also a great time to level up the Season One Battle Pass if you haven’t done so already. You won’t be able to earn Operators like Nolan and Dokkaebi if you don’t earn enough levels before time runs out.
