How to unlock House of the Blue Sunbright in Dragon’s Dogma 2

House of the Blue Sunbright will only unlock after you’ve completed The Gift of Giving side quest for Daphne. You can find her in the Vernworth Slums hanging around outside The Gracious Hand. While you’re here you can also complete the Saint of the Slums side quest.

Once The Gift of Giving is complete you can bump into Diana while walking around Vernworth and she’ll ask you to meet with her lord at their manor. This will kickstart House of the Blue Sunbright.

Locating the body double for Sebastian

Once you enter the manor you’ll meet Sebastian who will task you with finding someone who looks identical to him to take his place at home. And it may not be hard to guess who the best candidate is. Daphne is the perfect choice in this case so it’s time to go off and find her. She usually sticks somewhere around the slums and is easiest to find in the daytime.

After finding Daphne, simply speak to her and she’ll take very little convincing to join in on the plan. Afterward, the goal is to escort Daphne back to the manor in the Noble district. Another short scene plays out between Daphne and Sebastian and now it’s time to make a choice.

What items to give to Sebastian

Sebastian seeks to journey to Melve to find his mother a flower called a Blue Sunbright, which is where this Dragon’s Dogma 2 side quest gets its name. But it’s up to you to give Sebastian items to ensure he has a safe journey. You can speak to Diana and Daphne at this point to get clues about which items would serve Sebastian the best. Diana hints that a curative that cures both drowsiness and poison would be good. And Daphne suggest something that would ward off a Cyclops.

For items that ward off poison and sleep, you could give Sebastian Waking Powder and Detoxifying Decoction. Alternatively, you could give him a Panacea or an Allheal Elixir as these both do the trick. And to ward off a Cyclops you must give Sebastian a Misshapen Eye which can be looted off of a dead Cyclops.

Once you’ve given the right items away, Sebastian will set off on his journey and now all that’s left to do is wait a few days Luckily, there’s a bench right outside the Townsend’s Estate that you can use to pass time.

Quest rewards and aftermath

After waiting a few days Sebastian will return home. Unfortunately, things don’t go exactly to plan as Sebastian’s mother is unhappy about the group’s plan. Sebastian still rewards us with 3,000 gold and two Fine Harspud Roborant though so that’s nice.

That marks the end of House of the Blue Sunbright in Dragon’s Dogma 2 but you can still witness the continuation of the storyline after waiting a few days and returning. Without spoiling too much, if you return to the manor you’ll discover that Diana is no longer working there. She’s now living in the Slums and speaking to her will reveal the secret that results in The Gracious Hand’s funding.
