How to get and use the Chaos Rosalia Relic in Vampire Survivors

Chaos isn’t a pit; Chaos is a Rosalia.

Vampire Survivors may just be the best deal in gaming when it comes to the content to cost ratio. Not only has the base game always been incredibly affordable, but it’s been updated with numerous free content packs since its full release in 2022. The latest in this line is patch 1.5, or ‘The Overwhelming One’, which introduces a new map and three new Relics. One of these Relics is the Chaos Rosalia, following in the crystalline footsteps of the Chaos Malachite before it by unlocking an evolved form for one of the base game’s characters. Read on to learn how you can get your hands on the Chaos Rosalia Relic, and how you can use it, in Vampire Survivors’ latest patch.

How to find the Chaos Rosalia location in Vampire Survivors

Step 1: Head to Astral Stair

The Chaos Rosalia Relic can be found in the new map added in patch 1.5, Astral Stair. Like Bat Country before it, you’ll need to unlock this map by reaching level 80 in the Inverted Mode version of a stage, in this case the Inlaid Library. If you undertook the maddeningly complex quest necessary to unlock Avatar Infernas in the past, then you’ll likely have already done this, since that also requires a visit to the Inverted Inlaid Library.

If not, then you’re in for a rough ride. Inverted Mode makes enemies much tougher (200% tougher, to be precise), and the Inlaid Library’s tight horizontal layout makes evading large swarms harder than usual. Because of this, you’ll want to come prepared: make sure you’re using one of the game’s best characters, with a good lineup of Arcana Cards to support you in your run. If you’re struggling, you can always take advantage of the Golden Egg farming spot in Abyss Foscari, which will allow you to boost a character to game-breaking levels of power with ease.

Step 2: Make your way to the Chaos Rosalia

Once you’ve unlocked the map, head on over to Astral Stair to continue your quest. This is an extremely unique stage, one that begins with a strange free-fall through hordes of enemies and portals to other stages, before the yellow hand of the Directer catches you, and you can proceed as normal. Well, relatively normal. Navigation in the Astral Stair is handled differently than in most stages, since the map here is broken up into smaller chunks, which you can move between via arched doors you’ll find at the edges of sections.

The Chaos Rosalia is found in the top-right section of the Stair, and to access it you’ll need to make your way to the top of the initial vertical strip you start in, then take the doors over to the right once you’re there. You can refer to the in-game map for rough guidance (or, once you’ve acquired the Astral Stair Map Relic from the stage, detailed guidance) on how to do so, and you can follow the green arrows that appear during gameplay also. Once you’re in the right room, head down to the bottom to find the Rosalia sitting on a table, just waiting to be added to your collection. Pick it up, then proceed to the end of your run as normal.

Step 3: Reach level 80 with Yatta Cavallo

Once you’ve claimed the Chaos Rosalia, you can try it out in another run. Before jumping in, make sure you choose Yatta Cavallo on the character select screen, as the Chaos Rosalia exclusively affects him. Play out your run as normal and, once you reach level 80, Yatta will evolve into his new second form: a kind of cosmic spirit-genie, with low movement speed but high firepower, and a more potent version of Yatta’s starting Cherry Bomb weapon to boot. Like Mortaccio in the Chaos update, it’s great to see an older character receive an upgrade like this, making him much more viable in late-game runs than he was before.

And that’s that: a complete guide on how to get, and use, the Chaos Rosalia Relic in Vampire Survivors. It’s another great piece of content in a game that’s already stuffed to the brim with the stuff, and it adds yet more nuance to the game’s dizzyingly large cast of characters.
