Diablo 4: Where to find Distilled Fear

Getting your hands on Distilled Fear is a bit more complex than you may realize. Getting Distilled Fear in Diablo 4 requires completing Tier 30 Nightmare Dungeons. During Season 2, there’s a new endgame boss called The Beast in the Ice. For a limited time, you can find Distilled Fear and craft a special Nightmare Sigil to summon it. After defeating it, the rewards include the chance of earning two cosmetics, as well as different Unique items.

If you’re unfamiliar with Nightmare Dungeons, they’re essentially modified versions of normal dungeons. They’re a lot tougher, but they give you much better rewards. There are different Tiers of Nightmare Dungeons, all only accessible from Nightmare Sigils. There’s a chance to earn your first Nightmare Sigil after completing 10 Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers.

To find Distilled Fear, craft a Tier 30 or above Nightmare Sigil through an Occultist. You can find them in most central towns. Unfortunately, even though you may be collecting Sigil Powder, you cannot craft Nightmare Sigils until you get your first one from a Grim Favor Cache reward.

Once you get 250 Sigil Powder and nine Distilled Fear, you can craft a Glacial Fissure Nightmare Sigil. This is the key to summoning The Beast in the Ice at World Tier 4, and the only use for Distilled Fear.

Upon defeating this endgame boss, you get the chance to earn The Skull Torch and Fell Steed Mount Trophies, along with several Unique items.
