How to get Release Tokens in the Outlast Trials

Escape is just a release away.

Release Tokens are crucial in The Outlast Trials, if you want to escape the brutal and horrifying world, these tokens become important. While they serve as a goal for you to obtain, the tokens can help you do other things like getting outfits. However, since they’re important, they are hard to get at once. But fret not, we at PC Invasion will be that guiding light for you in the bleakness of the Murkoff Program. So read this guide to learn how to get Release Tokens in The Outlast Trials.

The Outlast Trials: How to get Release Tokens

These tokens are awarded to you as you complete each Program. Since the game is in early access, there are three Programs you can complete, alone or with friends. You can unlock a fourth Program X after going through and beating the other 3. But expect more Programs to come when the game is fully released.

Now, even if you do all the trials within the Program, you may not get a token. This is because you must do all the milestones with a high grade. Simply going through each trial won’t reward you with a token, you have to perform well.

The game isn’t that clear in how the grading system works, but a good rule of thumb is to be almost perfect. Because then you can the Release Token easily. So after you beat each trial of the Program you’re in with a high grade, you get a token.

Why are they important?

These tokens are essential because they help you get close to the end. If you obtain ten Release Tokens, you can beat The Outlast Trials. Upon beating the game, you become Reborn, allowing you to redo the trials. When you become Reborn, you keep everything, however, things do get harder. But this just means rewards get even better.

Additionally, when Reborn, you unlock legendary outfits. These outfits can be bought using the credits you earn for surviving each trial.
