How to get rid of bodies in Palworld

A very morbid reminder.

In Palworld, defeated enemies, Pals and humans, go ragdoll and flop around. At first, it’s highly amusing, but some players have begun to find it highly irritating, especially as they do take a while to despawn. Is there something you can do about this?

Do dead bodies despawn in Palworld?

Thankfully, yes. Dead bodies do eventually despawn, although it takes around a minute, from my experience. These ragdoll corpses are pretty funny, although they can certainly get in the way, especially if you’ve been a victim of a raid. It certainly isn’t pretty when there are a dozen human corpses littered around.

Thankfully, they will despawn, unless they’re incapacitated Pals assigned to your base. In that case, removing them from the base and putting them back in the Pal Box is the only way to get rid of their poor, incapacitated bodies.

Other ways to deal with dead bodies in Palworld

Some players have been complaining that their dead bodies simply aren’t despawning in Palworld. This must be some kind of bug if these aren’t your Pals assigned to your base. There are a couple of things you can do to try and solve this issue to declutter your world from dead bodies.

Firstly, I would fast-travel away and then fast-travel back again, to see if the game renders their bodies back in. It shouldn’t, and you should be good to go. Alternatively, if you’re far away from a fast travel point, then exiting the game and rejoining may get rid of them. At the very least, it may reset their despawn timer, so wait a minute before taking any further action.

What I’d prefer to do, because it’s funnier, is take advantage of the ragdoll physics and push their dead bodies to the side. You can toss them off cliffs and chuck them in rivers — pretty much anything to get them out of the way will be fine. They love to roll down hills, and I love to watch them go.

Hopefully, this bug will be fixed before long and you won’t have to deal with a build-up of obstacles getting in your way.
