How to get the Lock-on Pistol in Fortnite

Lock-on to enemies.

Fortnite is an always-evolving game, and Epic has innovated over the years by adding new and unique weapons and other in-game mechanics. Now, we’re a little bit halfway through Chapter 5 Season 1, and they’ve gone ahead and added a familiar weapon for players to obtain in the Lock-on Pistol.

The loot pool within Fortnite is currently all the brand new weapons Epic introduced during the onset of Chapter 5 Season 1, with some recent additions such as the Enforcer AR.

While all of these new weapons have been a blast to figure out, we’re always open to using familiar ones, and this is what we’re going to be using today with the addition of the Lock-on Pistol.

The re-addition of this weapon is a surprise. We can assume that looting this weapon is going to be the same process as it was before in Chapter 4 Season 2, and this involves looting it via ground loot, chests or from eliminated players.

There shouldn’t be any complicated process to obtain it; however, we could see it drop off some NPCs around the map, but this is unknown at the time of writing.

The Lock-on Pistol only comes in rare varieties, so the damage is going to remain the same no matter what player is using it, as they won’t have access to a better version.

As the name suggests, players will need to hold down the sights until the weapon has locked onto their target and release the trigger once this process is complete.

So, be sure to use this weapon early on within battles, as using it up close is not advised, but you never know, you can make anything work in Fortnite.

Here are the damage statistics for the Lock-on Pistol:

  • Damage per Second
    • 120
  • Damage
    • 80
  • Fire Rate
    • 1.5
  • Shots per Burst
    • 1 (Lock On Only)
  • Magazine Size
    • 8
  • Reload Time
    • 5.7s
  • Critical Hit Damage
    • 1.25x

Pretty decent if you ask me. It’ll surely end up being beloved by fans who used it during the previous Chapter, so this could also mean the return of other weapons from previous Chapters.

For now, we can only speculate. But there are some indisputable aspects of Fortnite as well, like the best ways to find better loot spots.
