How to get the Sword of the Hero in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

An old friend returns.

Before he had the Master Sword, Link’s weapon of choice was a much simpler blade. But the Sword of the Hero is definitely one of the better one-handed swords in Tears of the Kingdom. And there’s no better friend to have at your side when it’s too dangerous to go alone. So, here’s how you can find the Sword of the Hero in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom: How to find the Sword of the Hero

The Sword of the Hero is located in the Depths, just like many of the other classic pieces of equipment. Unfortunately, getting to its location in the Depths is a bit of a pain. You’ll first want to head over to the Birida Lookout Chasm located in the Gerudo Highlands. Check the map below for the exact location.

From this entrance point in the Depths, you need to work your way to the northeast. There’ll be two Lightroots you can get on the way as shown on the map below. Additionally, it’s a good idea to have the Depths armor set in Tears of the Kingdom, as well as plenty of Brightbloom Seeds. Once you’re ready to make the journey head over to the Muzazu Lightroot which is just above my current location on the map below. This will illuminate the area and give you a fast travel point.

From here, all you need to do his head south to get to Dalite Grove. In this area there is a large hollowed out tree stump with a Gloom-infested tree inside. Once again, check the map below for the exact location of this tree stump. It’s where my Current Location marker is. It’s not too far away from the Muzazu Lightroot, but it is easy to miss. We’re really close to getting the Sword of the Hero in Tears of the Kingdom now.

Once you get to the tree stump, you should see the chest right in the center. Just open it up, and you’ll get yourself the Sword of the Hero in Tears of the Kingdom. It has a base attack value of 17, and when combined with the right material it can do even more damage. So when you’ve got a minute, make sure you go off and get this sword soon. Afterward, you can check out the location of the Biggoron’s Sword.
