How to play Solo PvE in Party Animals

Not ready to face PvP? We've got you covered.

Party Animals is a fast-paced multiplayer game where players can unleash their inner beast and compete across multiple game types. If you’re like me, you thrive in competition, but many players are quite the opposite. For some, trying to keep up with sweat-lords online is a nightmarish proposition. If that sounds like you, you’re in luck, as Party Animals also offers a way to play against AI bots. Not only that, you can tune the experience to your liking and even play with a friend. As you have no excuse not to don your Goose outfit now, let me show you how to play Solo PvE in Party Animals.

You can play against bots in Party Animals, but as it’s not on the main menu, let me explain how to get there. Pick ‘Custom Game’ from the main menu, and then ‘Create.’

You now have three options: Last Stand, Team Score, and Arcade. Each of these game modes has a few different maps to play on. I urge you to try them all, as there are some fantastic locations in Party Animals. You don’t have to limit yourself to a single map, either. Multiple maps can be selected to make the playlist of your dreams.

Once you’ve picked your maps, you can start adding players to the roster. Select any empty slot on a team, and use the ‘Add AI’ function to fill it with a bot. If you interact with the bot, you can alter its difficulty. Fill the slots on your team with bots as well, and you’re ready to go! Remember, you can individually tinker with the AI for each bot, so if you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to turn them down a notch. When you’re ready, hit start, and that’s it! You’re playing Party Animals with a full roster of bots.

You don’t need to do this right away, but the ‘Settings’ tab on the roster page lets you tweak all kinds of options to suit your liking.

Even if you’re open to playing against real players, Custom Game serves as a great way to practice the more unique game types. Modes like Trebuchet are great, but you’ll likely lose your first game while figuring it out. This PvE mode lets you sharpen your skills and take on the world when (or if) you’re ready.

Can I play with a friend against bots?

You and a friend can tackle the AI onslaught together if you wish, and it’s a great way to learn to play together. To bring a friend with you, instead of choosing an AI bot to fill a slot, select ‘Invite Friend’ instead. You can even play against each other to see who has the best bot army!
