How to sell ships in Starfield

Make some money.

Starfield is a game that has a huge amount of things to do within its literally galaxy wide game-world. You can spend a lot of time doing just about anything you want to do in Starfield, whether that’s simply looting nearby planets or ships for something quick to sell, or even building yourself your own dream home. One of the things you can spend time doing is investing into the ship aspects of the game. You can build whatever ship you want in Starfield, meaning you can create a bunch of your favorites from other pieces of media. You can also buy a new ship, but if you want to steal a ship, that’s also possible. This means there’s a lot of chances to get new ships in Starfield, but you will probably need to sell a few of them. Here’s our guide on how to sell ships in Starfield.

How to sell ships in Starfield

To sell ships in Starfield, the first thing you’re going to need to do is find yourself a Ship Services Technician that purchase ships from. You can usually find these NPCs at Ship Services kiosks around the galaxy, such as the ones on Neon and New Atlantis that are right next to where you land your ship, who also offer the opportunity for you to purchase ships from them. Once you talk to the Ship Services Technician, you’re going to want to select the option that states “Let me see what ships you have for sale.” This option then should take you into a menu where you can purchase ships from the Ship Services Technician, and on the bottom right, you should be able to see an option that says ‘Sell’. Press the corresponding button, and you’ll now be able to sell your ships.

From this menu you should be able to sell any ships that you have and want to get rid of in Starfield. Bear in mind that you cannot sell your home ship, and that I personally can’t sell the Frontier, which is the first ship you receive. That might change as you progress through the game, but I’m unsure if that is the case.

Starfield is available for purchase on Steam.
