Here are the 20 best custom ship designs in Starfield!

20. Titanic

Reddit user jethrowwilson has recreated an iconic 20th-century vessel, the Titanic, and it looks impressive! But even though there are no icebergs in space, I can’t shake the feeling this ship will give me some bad luck (what with all those pesky asteroids out there).

19. White Base from Gundam

Reddit user alvalvalv recreated the White Base, a pegasus-class assault landing ship, appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin and the OVA adaption.

18. Borg Cube

Reddit user InginousIdiocy made a Borg Cube used by the Borg Collective in the Star Trek franchise. Don’t mind that when flying the ship in 3rd person, the Borg Cube takes up the entirety of the screen. Just the sight of the Borg Cube is enough to frighten away any would-be attackers due to its sheer destructive powers.

17. Crimson Heart

Reddit user bmikey built the Crimson Heart ship to look as close as possible to an actual heart, and I think he blew it out of the park with this one. This is another original ship design on this list which goes to show the exponential creativity of Starfield players. Even the engines are placed asymmetrically in order to mimic the artery and vein!

16. Swordfish II

Reddit user ZUPER_CHEF recreated Spike Spiegel’s ship, the Swordfish II, from Cowboy Bebop.

15. UNSC Pelican

Reddit user SecsHaven12 recreated his favorite ship from the Halo franchise, the UNSC Pelican. This also looks like the drop ship from Alien, which the Pelican was based on when designed, so this is a two-for-one!

14. Millenium Falcon

Reddit user Krunkstep77 recreated the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars. Since you can smuggle goods in Starfield, who would want to emulate the most popular smuggler in history, Han Solo, by flying his iconic ship?

13. Firefly Class

Reddit user neok182 made a faithful recreation of the Firefly Class ships from the hit TV series Firefly.

12. The Rocinante

Reddit user Stock-Finish-5281 has made The Rocinante, another recreation of a ship from a TV series. This one is from the smash-hit sci-fi drama “The Expanse”. The sleek design coupled with red-and-black coloring gives it a thumbs up in my book. If you want to have a go at making this ship yourself, Stock-Finish has uploaded a guide on YouTube detailing the building process.

11. Kilrathi

Reddit user emperorkestahl recreated the Heavy Fighter ships used by the Kilrathi from the Wing Commander series.

10. Star Destroyer

Star Wars strikes yet again as Reddit user starwarsnerdsquad has managed to build a pretty accurate version of the Star Destroyer when it comes to its design. Made of 42 hab spaces and spanning 8 floors, this Star Destroyer is an absolute unit in-game.

9. Prometheus

While Reddit user SFM_Hobb3s admits this is still a work in progress, we would be happy to fly around in the Prometheus from the Alien franchise. Now, we need a mod to create custom companions to have David onboard.

8. Blood Moon

Blood Moon

The Blood Moon was made by Reddit user Naive_Palpitation_43 and it sports a crescent moon design that seems akin to what a Guardian of the Galaxy would fly. It also features a color scheme which I think takes the spotlight as it gives it a vibrant Crimson Fleet aesthetic.

7. Black Pearl

Reddit user snakemuho took being a space pirate to a whole new level with an actual pirate ship, complete with artificial triple sails. Ride against the UC SysDef in the Black Pearl and they will remember it as the day they almost caught the legendary Starborn Jag Sbarro. The creator also recommends pairing it with the first mercenary outfit plus the space trucker haul wrap to complete the swashbuckler look.Check out the build guide video for detailed instructions.

6. Dauntless Star

Reddit user A_Retarded_Alien wins the award for the most unique custom ship not based on an IP. He calls it the Dauntless Star, featuring three decks with a large crew of seven. I could see this ship being the basis for a sci-fi series like Star Trek.

5. Scorpion Ship

Reddit user CostKey9800 has made a scorpion ship that Doctor Mobius would love to get his hands on. Adding to the scorpion aesthetic, it has mounted lasers on its tail that act like a stinger. How terrifying would it be to have this thing creep out from the dark side of a planet and ambush you?

4. SR-71 Blackbird

Black Bird

Reddit user RandomAzzy has made a faithful adaptation of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird stealth jet. It’s colored in stealthy black like the real-life Blackbird and would be my first pick for a stealth build, even if purely aesthetic. You can definitely tell its message is not friendly as it carries a total of 11 cannons and looks ready for war.

3. Batman 2330

Batman

Reddit user bmikey has made an actual Batwing in Starfield. Enough said. This ship looks amazingly fit for the would-be Batman of 2330 and is sure to keep fans of the Dark Knight entertained till the next Arkham game releases.

2. Black Widow

Turn back now if you’re an arachnophobe because Reddit user SP7R takes the cake when it comes to arthropod ship builds. I wasn’t sure these types of structures were possible with the ship builder but SP7R has managed to pull it off by spending 40 hours of playtime making this single ship, and it’s a masterpiece.

1. X-Wing

X Wing Starfield

My absolute favorite custom ship build in Starfield goes to Reddit user Fudgie_Brown, who made a fantastic recreation of the iconic X-Wing from Star Wars. This should be called the XXXL-Wing because it is a big boy! The Rebels would have swiftly won the war if they all flew ships of this size!  Thankfully, the creator has published a build guide allowing you to live out your greatest Star Wars fantasies in Starfield.

Author’s Note: I wrote this guide while playing Starfield on Xbox Series S.
