The Pastel Amphidex enemy in Gongaga is who you’ll be facing off against in Fiend Intel 1: A Croaking Chorus. They have a nasty habit of trying to cast Toad on you, which will transform you into a frog. How you can stop from turning into a frog in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is by wearing a White Cape, or dodging out of the way.

Avoiding getting hit with Toad can be difficult since you’re facing off against three Pastel Amphidex enemies. Luckily, before entering the fight, you should see if you have a White Cape in your inventory. This will make you Immune to Toad. You can get a White Cape as a reward for completing Six-Person Bouts: The Befouled at the Battle Square in the Gold Saucer.

You’ll also eventually be able to create a White Cape through the Item Transmuter, but you have to upgrade your Craftsmanship level to do that. Otherwise, the next best way to avoid turning into a frog is to dodge out of the way of the attack.

You’ll notice right as a Pastel Amphidex casts Toadfrog Tune on you, a cloud of blue smoke appears. It makes up a pretty small area, and you have plenty of time to press Circle and dodge out of the smoke. But since you also have to look out for all party members, switch between everyone often enough so you’re making sure everyone is avoiding Toadfrog Tune.

How to stagger Pastel Amphidex

Other than this objective, you have two others to 100% this Fiend Intel: Stagger an enemy, and defeat all enemies within the time limit. You can easily do this with a team of Cloud, Yuffie, and Tifa. Both Cloud and Tifa have some incredible moves to increase an enemy’s Stagger gauge. Cloud’s Focused Thrust move increases Stagger significantly, while Tifa’s Focused Strike will boost Stagger as well.

Then you have Yuffie who can exploit the enemy’s weakness to Ice damage. Activate her Ice Ninjutsu after throwing her Ninja Star at a Pastel Amphidex to hit its weakness and Pressure them. This can also help you to Stagger them, which will aid in defeating all enemies within the time limit.

There are plenty of other Fiend Intel challenges to tackle in FF7 Rebirth, especially ones with difficult objectives, such as how to not get stunned by Saberhawk.
