Now, I know what you might think: “Hey, didn’t we clear pathways back when the Season of the Wish was released?” And you would be completely right! Riven’s Lair is one of the many implementations that happened during Season 23, and pathways are the several instances regarding said quest. Now, why do we bring this up? Well, because one of the Daily Bounties – Riven’s Chose – from Lord Shaxx in the Hall of Champions – the new social area in Into the Light – will require you to clear a pathway in Riven’s Lair.
Does this mean that all of a sudden, we are receiving Season of the Wish content for free? Not quite. For any new players that are experiencing the Into the Light content – which is free – I’m sorry to let you know that you will need to purchase the Lightfall expansion to complete this Daily Bounty. I don’t understand why a free Bounty system that focuses mainly on Onslaught – a free mode – would include paid content, but I can see Bungie rewarding players who have invested money in the game.
Anyway, if you did buy Lightfall, then visit HELM and run a pathway in Riven’s Lair. The pathway is pretty straightforward and all pathway instances follow the same basic outline: step on three platforms, clear mobs, three platforms again, and then a boss fight. You will be accompanied by two other Guardians and since it is a power 1600 arena, you will probably do this in no time.
Once you complete the pathway, make sure to claim your Daily Bounty to earn more Lord Shaxx reputation. This will allow you to eventually get the Superblack Key Alpha and, once you complete all the Braven weapon quests and get the Superblack Key Omega from Arcite 99-40, get the Superblack Shader. Now, that’s stylish!
