Split screen is a beloved feature of past Call of Duty games, but with the way things are looking these days, there isn’t a lot of hope for MW3 split screen.

Does the MW3 campaign have split screen co-op?
Unfortunately, Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t have split screen co-op for the campaign. You can’t play the Modern Warfare 3 campaign via local or online co-op. Also, Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t include Spec Ops, which is a major bummer.
Is Modern Warfare Zombies split screen?
Instead of Spec Ops, we are getting Modern Warfare Zombies. However, just like DMZ, MWZ doesn’t have split screen.
While I’m excited for MWZ, past Zombies modes has always included a local split screen feature. Since we aren’t getting the smaller, classic Zombies maps anymore, it’s a huge bummer to see MWZ not get local split screen. Activision really let all split screen lovers down with Modern Warfare 3.
Split-screen option in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer
While it was absent during the beta, Modern Warfare 3 does have split screen multiplayer. The MW2 beta launched without local multiplayer, but when the game went live, it received split screen which is why we know that’ll be the case for MW3. This is the only silver lining to the sad news about MWZ, campaign, and Spec Ops couch co-op.
To play local multiplayer in MW3, you’ll need at least two controllers, although local split screen can go up to four players. Another caveat is you can’t play online multiplayer with split screen. All you can do is create a private match to play MW3 multiplayer locally with yourself and your friends and family.
