What does Damned do in Last Epoch?

The Last Epoch Damned status ailment in-game description is as follows: “deals necrotic damage over time and also reduces health regeneration. It can stack an unlimited number of times.”

When players inflict Damned, each stack deals 35 Necrotic damage over a 2.5-second duration. It also applies a 20% reduced health regeneration modifier. In other words, Damned is a great way to deal passive damage while also preventing your enemies from healing themselves.
